Antonio Conte has confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso is now back in full Tottenham Hotspur training on the club’s official app

Good injury news

Lo Celso has been missing for Tottenham since the November break, but he was pictured at Hotspur Way recently.

With Tottenham’s training ground shut down, his recovery from injury could have been disrupted.

However, Conte has insisted that the Argentine is fine again now, ahead of his side’s game against Leicester City.

“Giovani Lo Celso is back in training,” he said, in a positive injury update.

Point to prove

Now, ideally Tottenham would have probably liked to ease Lo Celso back into action after his time on the treatment table.

But it may be a question that Lo Celso has to be thrown in at the deep end.

Tottenham go into their game against Leicester City tonight with depleted numbers.

Spurs have suffered with a covid outbreak in camp and Conte has already suggested that he has a number of players who aren’t fit enough to start.

Lo Celso’s versatility could now be key for Conte in the coming weeks.

The 25-year-old could cover in central midfield for Spurs or in one of the two slots behind the striker.

He returns to fitness with a point to prove too.

After an encouraging first season at Tottenham, Lo Celso’s form hasn’t been particularly impressive and he is yet to really justify the £55 million in fees which the club paid for him
