Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Steven Bergwijn is available to play against Manchester City tomorrow at his press conference today, which was broadcasted by Hayters TV.

Tottenham winger Bergwin was sent home from international duty early this week, with Holland deciding that he wasn’t fit enough to play for them.

The break has done Bergwijn good, as he has been able to recover back at Spurs’s training ground.

And Mourinho has suggested that the £27 million man (BBC Sport) could well feature for Tottenham against City tomorrow now.

“He went to the national team injured,” Mourinho said.

“So he was not involved in our match against West Brom, because that week he was injured.

“Even so he reported to the national team, they had their medical team analyse him and they decided they didn’t want to keep him there because he wouldn’t we ready for the next match.

“He has stayed here for the past two weeks and in that time he was able to recover and he is available for tomorrow.”

Bergwijn’s availability is good news for Spurs as he offers them another attacking outlet, although he is unlikely to start.

The January signing has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham this term, following the arrival of Gareth Bale.

City will know all about his quality though, as Bergwijn scored on his debut in Tottenham’s win over Pep Guadiola’s side last season.

If Tottenham are able to repeat that winning result again this term then they will move to the top of the Premier League table – ahead of Leicester City’s game against Liverpool on Sunday.
