Some fans on Twitter are raving about the performance of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso after his display for Argentina.
The Spurs star helped his country to a 1-0 victory over Uruguay this morning.
Lo Celso looked excellent during his time on the field but was taken off after 52 minutes with a potential injury.
It was Guido Rodriguez who scored the decisive goal, with Lionel Messi the architect.
But Lo Celso – a £25 million signing by Tottenham 18 months ago – also did more than his fair share throughout the game.
And here’s how neutral supporters reacted to his display on Twitter:
Consistency
Lo Celso has always been a very gifted player but showing it at Tottenham has occasionally been difficult.
Not only has the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder been injured quite a bit, but Tanguy Ndombele has often kept him out of the first XI.
That was regularly the case under Jose Mourinho and it’ll be fascinating to see how Spurs’ next manager – whoever that proves to be following what’s been a bit of a circus in North London – rates Lo Celso.
The talent is there, but the consistency isn’t and that’ll be something for the player to work on next season and beyond.
