There is seemingly not an ounce of bad blood between Arsenal new boy Thomas Partey and Diego Simeone.

The Gunners signed Partey from Atletico Madrid in a £45 million deal on transfer deadline day.

Atleti were reportedly frustrated by Arsenal for not lodging their bid directly to the Primera Liga side.

Due to regulations in Spain, the Premier League outfit were not obliged to inform the Madrid club’s hierarchy of the offer, causing tensions.

But Simeone, Atletico’s head coach, is still a massive fan of the Ghana international as both a player and a person, describing him as ‘extraordinary’ during an interview with Mundo Deportivo today.

He said: “He is an extraordinary player. He will do well at Arsenal. We wish him the best because we love him very much.”

Arsenal fans will be desperate to see the big midfielder in action tomorrow.

Mikel Arteta’s side visit Manchester City and with the Etihad being one of the toughest away trips in the English football calendar, the North Londoners could really do with somebody of Partey’s talents.
