Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Sky Sports that Harry Kane has impressed him in Spurs training and will not change him for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

Spurs will take on Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Salah will head into the game in great form, while Kane is struggling in front of goal for Conte’s Tottenham.

The Tottenham no. 10 has scored one goal and provided one assist in 12 Premier League starts so far this season.

However, according to Conte, Kane has been brilliant in Spurs training.

Antonio Conte on Spurs striker Harry Kane

Conte told Sky Sports about Kane: “Harry is a world-class striker. Every day that I train him I understand very well that he’s a world-class striker.

“He’s one of the best I’ve had the pleasure to train. He’s amazing. I like to have him in my team.

“For sure Jurgen [Klopp] likes to have Mo Salah. But I like to have Harry in my team.

“He’s an important player for us and my expectation was very high and to play an important game against Liverpool.”

Stepping up

A few bad months does not make Kane a bad player.

We all know how good the Tottenham striker is.

After all, he has scored 167 goals in 259 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

However, it is important that Kane steps up his game now for Conte’s team.

The England international is the only recognised senior striker in the current Spurs team, and Conte needs him.

So, in our opinion, Kane needs to start delivering the goods.

It has been several weeks now, and we think that the striker should start doing more and score more goals.

Tottenham are very much in the race for the Premier League top four, but they need Kane’s goals.
