Gabriele Marcotti has stated that Tottenham Hotspur forward, Richarlison, is ‘already at a big club’ amid transfer rumours linking him to Real Madrid.

The European football expert thinks Richarlison, who signed for Spurs from Everton in the summer, has a ‘long way to go’ before he dons Real Madrid colours, as he told ESPN.

Whilst the 25-year-old leads the line for Brazil at the Qatar World Cup, that might not happen when he returns to north London in a few weeks.

England captain Harry Kane is the main man up top under Antonio Conte, and that won’t change, but it could still see Richarlison play second fiddle to Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski.

Marcotti pointed out how Richrlison needs to sort that out, including performing week in and week out, before he can even think of moves to clubs such as Real Madrid.

“Spurs fans, he is already at a big club,” said Marcotti after an ESPN host digged at Spurs asking if it’s time for Richarlison to move to a big club. “I don’t know if Richarlison views Tottenham as a stepping stone.

“But even Tottenham fans will recognise that even Real Madrid are in a different stratosphere, possibly to every other club in the world.

“I think the days players were judged on what they could do at World Cups, those are long gone. If Richarlison gets a move, it’s going to be based on what he does week in and week out in the Premier League. As wonderful as he is for Brazil, let’s not forget, he isn’t an automatic choice in Tottenham’s starting XI.

“When everyone is fit. We have seen Conte preferring Kulusevski or Son to him. I think there is still a way to go to anointing him a Real Madrid-calibre centre-forward.”

REAL MADRID’S INTEREST IN RICHARLISON

The Spanish giants have always had a rich history with Brazilian players from R9 Ronaldo to current rising star, Vinicius Jr.

And whilst Richarlison has a long way to go in having a fan club like theirs, this World Cup could take his name through the footballing roof and beyond.

Brazil are chasing World Cup glory for the first time since 2002, and with Richarlison on three goals already, if he can produce the magic moments, then he will be a legend forever in the eyes of his country.
