Andros Townsend has praised Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips on the ITV Football Show.
Phillips has impressed at Leeds this season, where he has earned himself a call up into England’s Euro 2020 squad.
There is a real chance that the Leeds man could start in Gareth Southgate’s side’s first game against Croatia in two weekends’ time, with Jordan Henderson struggling for fitness.
And Townsend believes that Phillips is fully deserving of his international chance now.
“He’s a very good player, great engine up and down the pitch and doesn’t stop running,” the £13m Crystal Palace attacker (Sky) said.
“If he does get the nod [to start] he deserves it as well.”
Deserved praise
Leeds fans have known all about Phillips’ talents for some time, so the ease of which he has taken to the Premier League has come as no surprise to many at Elland Road.
Since Marcelo Bielsa stepped in the defensive midfielder has taken his game to new heights.

He is now so important to Leeds, with his passing range and defensive skill particularly eye catching.
If Phillips does impress at Euro 2020, there is no telling just how high his value could rise.
But Leeds will be planning for next season with their academy graduate right in the heart of their team once again.
