Speaking to Aston Villa’s official club website, Emi Buendia has been waxing-lyrical about Philippe Coutinho after his arrival at Villa Park.
The Brazilian joined the Midlands club in January, and it’s fair to say that he’s hit the ground running.
Coutinho scored a goal and grabbed an assist on his debut against Manchester United, and Buendia has been full of praise for his new teammate.
What’s Buendia said about Coutinho?
The Argentine was full of praise for the Barcelona loanee.
“Yeah. He’s a top top player, he’s shown already what he can do with Liverpool a couple of years ago he’s played for Barcelona, won the champions league with Bayern Munich, so he’s a top to player and also a really good person. I have a good connection with him, I tried to help him settle in at Aston Villa and in the city, we have a good relationship,” Buendia said.

Brilliant pairing
Buendia says that he has a good connection with Coutinho, and it’s fair to say that this could be a brilliant pairing at Villa Park in the coming months.
Coutinho and Buendia are two South American playmakers with an unreal amount of flair, and if Steven Gerrard can find a way to get the best out of both of them in the same XI then Villa could be absolutely incredible going forward.
Of course, having two players like Buendia and Coutinho can be a problem when your team needs to put in a back against the wall performance against a top side, but in games Villa expect to dominate, there could be some very exciting football on show.
