West Ham United are allegedly interested in signing the Newcastle United midfielder.

West Ham have been linked with a January move for Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, with the Daily Mail reporting that Manuel Pellegrini is prepared to splash out around £20 million to sign the midfielder, and some West Ham fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news.
The Hammers are currently in the midst of somewhat of a mini injury crisis in the midfield department, with Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez and Manuel Lanzini all out with long-term problems.
And the Daily Mail suggest that West Ham could make a £20 million move for Newcastle ace Shelvey to address that issue.
Whether the 26-year-old is the man for the job, however, is debatable.
The Harold Hill-born midfielder has never really reached the levels that were expected of him when he was younger, but he is a solid performer nonetheless.

In today’s day and age, £20 million doesn’t go very far, so it might just be worth taking a punt on the Englishman.
Some West Ham fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news, and the majority of them don’t seem to be too happy with the links to Shelvey…
