Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Fabinho has been waxing-lyrical about Curtis Jones after his performance against Porto in the Champions League.

Jones was the star man as the Reds overcame the Portuguese outfit, providing three assists and generally running the show from midfield.

At the age of just 20, this was a real breakthrough performance from Jones, and while so many fans were impressed, one of his teammates also had praise for him.

What’s been said?

Fabinho was blown away by what he’d seen from Jones.

“He’s a really good player. He needed this, to play every three days, it’s important for him for his rhythm. Physically, he’s really good and then with the ball, we know if we give the ball to him he will turn, he will create something special because he’s a really talented player. So, I’m happy for him with his performance and I hope he will keep playing well like this,” Fabinho said.

Frightening

Curtis Jones is quickly becoming a bit of a star at Anfield, but the scariest thing is, he absolutely thrives in a big game.

This isn’t the first time Jones has shone in a Champions League match, he was just as good against RB Leipzig last season, and if he keeps this up he will be one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp’s teamsheet going forward.

Jones’ emergence couldn’t have come at a better time either. The Reds have a bit of a midfield crisis on their hands after Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott went down with injuries, but due to Jones’ brilliance, they’ve not been missed too much.

Fingers crossed the 20-year-old can continue shining.
