Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur seemingly has a massive fan in the form of Neil Warnock.

The Spurs attacker enjoyed his best-ever season in North London last term by scoring 23 Premier League goals.

In doing so, Son shared the Golden Boot with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

However, none of the South Korea international’s league goals came from the penalty spot, which you could argue makes his haul this past season more impressive than Salah’s.

The 29-year-old is massively popular among supporters of the Lilywhites and has become something of a smiling assassin – and one who Warnock absolutely loves.

The veteran English manager told The Daily Star: “I love Son Heung-min, he optimises everything that’s good about the game. He’s always smiling and he works his socks off, he’s a Neil Warnock player! I love him, me.”

Indeed, Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is also a big admirer of the former Bayer Leverkusen superstar, who set Mauricio Pochettino back around £22 million in 2015.

It’s probably no surprise that Son is playing his best football under a manager of Conte’s class and the Italian will be hoping that his star attacker is just as lethal next season.

Spurs will be back in the Champions League next season and it’s fascinating to see how devastating this version of the player could be against Europe’s elite.
