Everton fans have taken to Twitter in disgust after hearing what Carlo Ancelotti said about the Toffees, after re-joining Real Madrid.
As quoted by the Daily Star, the Italian said: “Every club has different goals. Real Madrid’s goal is to win the Champions League and La Liga. Everton’s goal is to try to get a European spot, and a few years ago it was to stay in the Premier League.”
Now, you can understand why these comments have infuriated the Everton supporters.
Of course, Real Madrid are a bigger club, and have much loftier ambitions in comparison to Everton.
However, Ancelotti didn’t need to emphasise Everton’s inferiority to Real Madrid like this.
The 61-year-old also didn’t need to mention the club’s struggles a few seasons ago, in which Sam Allardyce was required to come in and help Everton avoid relegation.

One fan below said Ancelotti has turned ‘horrid’ after leaving Merseyside, and has truly gone from hero to zero in a matter of hours.
Another admitted they never trusted the ex-Chelsea boss, while one other fan asked if Ancelotti had been possessed by an evil spirit.
Our view: Ancelotti won’t be welcome back on Merseyside
In our view, it was bad of the Italian to leave the Toffees in limbo like this.
It would’ve been a distasteful thing to do at any point.
However, with Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Wolves also looking for new managers, Everton are now in a fight to find a new boss.

It’s far from an ideal situation, to say the very least.
Let’s see what some more Everton fans on Twitter have been saying about Ancelotti’s clearly triggering comments…
