Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin has been one of the six players nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month.
The Toon announced on their official Twitter account that the French attacker was on the list of names up for September’s Player of the Month award, with Saint-Maximin impressing in the past few games.
Competition will be fierce for Saint-Maximin, though, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Cancelo also up for the Player of the Month award.
Indeed, Newcastle remain winless in the top-flight this season. Yet Saint-Maximin has remained a shining light for the northeast side. The winger has managed a goal contribution in every match this month.
The former OGC Nice star bagged assists against Manchester United and Watford before scoring in Newcastle’s 1-1 draw against fellow Premier League cellar-dwellers Leeds United.

With the Magpies taking on Wolves this weekend, Steve Bruce will be hoping for another big performance from Saint-Maximin if Newcastle are to secure their first win of the Premier League season.
And on social media, Newcastle fans were over the moon that Saint-Maximin had been nominated for the September Player of the Month award.
Here’s what some supporters had to say about Saint-Maximin’s nomination on Twitter…
