Queens Park Rangers are currently in 15th place in the Championship table.

Ian Holloway’s words on Sky Sports at the start of the season, shed light on why he has changed so much at Queens Park Rangers already.

Holloway was active in the January transfer window, with Matt Smith his main target for Rangers.

And his pre-season prediction, where he suggested QPR would finish in 11th place, highlight exactly why he felt that bringing in a striker was so important.

“I’m not entirely sure about the QPR squad yet,” Holloway said, when he was working as a pundit for Sky Sports.

“Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink is the right man for the job but they haven’t replaced Charlie Austin. It’s okay to play in a certain style but you need to have a striker like Jimmy to bang in the goals.”

Holloway has begun turning QPR’s fortunes around recently, with their results impressive.

The R’s have won four of their last six matches, and drew 0-0 with Leeds United in their last outing.

Although Rangers still have improvements to make, they have looked a much better outfit of late.

QPR are now in 15th place in the Championship table, and they appear destined to finish in mid-table.

QPR are next in action this weekend, when they take on Rotherham United.
