According to the Telegraph, Everton are trying to convince Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata to join the club.
The Spaniard looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer after Jose Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal.
The Portuguese boss famously sold Mata to United back in January 2014, despite the player being a firm fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho believes that Mata has not changed since he sold him at Chelsea and as a result he is not in his plans moving forward.
Everton are keen to bring him to Goodison Park as a result, according to the Telegraph, with the Blues eyeing a £20 million move for the Spain international.

Should he head to Merseyside, he would be reuniting with Ronald Koeman, whom he worked with at Valencia.
In fact, Koeman was the man who handed Mata his La Liga debut, with the pair winning the Copa del Rey together, and just last year Mata spoke of his affection for the Dutchman.
“Ronald Koeman was my manager in Valencia when I won my first title as a professional footballer: the Copa del Rey,” he told his blog One Hour Behind.
“He was very important in my career because he gave me confidence and I played regularly, which is what every young player needs in his early years.’

Those comments certainly suggest that Mata holds his former manager in high esteem and potentially would be against linking up with him once again should he get the chance.
He would certainly represent a superb capture for Everton should they get the deal over the line in what is gearing up to be an exciting summer at Goodison Park.
