Here’s Emmanuel Adebayor’s past comments on West Ham United

West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini is said to be considering moving for Emmanuel Adebayor this summer.

According to The Sun, West Ham United want Emmanuel Adebayor, four years after he initially said that he wanted to sign for them.

Adebayor was wanted by West Ham back in 2015, but Tottenham Hotspur, who were the striker’s club at the time, would not sanction the move.

“The club decided to send me out on loan, which I was pleased with, and I was lucky enough to have five good clubs (interested),” he said to EuroSport.

“I decided to go for three, to see which one I should choose, and finally when I chose the one I wanted to go to [West Ham], unfortunately Mr Levy was against it because there was a rivalry between Tottenham and the club I wanted to go to.”

West Ham therefore missed out on signing the Togolese target-man.

However, the Sun claim that West Ham are keen on him again now, and a move to the London Stadium may still appeal.

Adebayor is now 35, but he could still offer West Ham a back-up option for the upcoming campaign.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have let Andy Carroll go, and may be looking to add depth to their options up-front.

Adebayor would surely not be anything more than a covering option at West Ham, but he could ensure that Pellegrini’s side are not left short up-front.
