Oscar Gloukh looked to be one of the most in-demand young players in Europe, and now, it seems as though he’s sealed his next transfer move.
Gloukh was being linked to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Manchester City at one point, but now, he’s set to land in Austria where he will ply his trade for RB Salzburg.
At least that’s what Fabrizio Romano is reporting.
The Italian has claimed that the teenager is set to join Salzburg and that a deal has been done to take the youngster to Austria.
This is a blow for Tottenham who have been linked with Gloukh for the past few months.
Reports resurfaced a fortnight ago stating that Spurs were taking a look at Gloukh, but In July last year, the Sunday Mirror (10/7; page 74) reported that Spurs had made contact about a move for the player.
12 months’ worth of links haven’t resulted in a transfer, and this may be one Spurs live to regret for years to come.
Indeed, the fact that Gloukh has signed for Salzburg is a true testament to his abilities. After all, the Austrian champions don’t just sign any old youngster.
This club is a breeding ground for the next top talents in Europe. The likes of Sadio Mane, Erling Haaland, Dominik Szoboszlai and Karim Adeyemi have all come through the RB Salzburg system, and it looks as though they believe Gloukh could be the next big star to make his name at their club.
Tottenham did have a serious look at this one, but now, Gloukh is headed elsewhere.
This is a young man whose name you should keep in mind, because at the age of 18, the sky is the limit here.
