It’s deadline day in the January transfer window and all eyes are on the comings and goings at Premier League clubs. One player who is making a late move is Ilya Zabarnyi, who according to Fabrizio Romano, will join Bournemouth.

This news comes as a surprise to many, as Zabarnyi has been linked to Tottenham for a long time.

Zabarnyi is one of the highest-rated young defenders in Europe, and at the age of just 20, he has loads of room to improve.

Tottenham have been in need of a left-footed centre-back and Zabarnyi seemed to be the perfect fit.

He’s a young, talented defender who has the ability to play out from the back and bring the ball forward. He’s also a player who has been highly rated by scouts, with one comparing him to Kalidou Koulibaly.

However, instead of making the move to Tottenham, Zabarnyi will now be joining Bournemouth.

This is a surprising turn of events and will come as a disappointment to many who were expecting to see Zabarnyi join a top club.

Zabarnyi is now set to jump into the Premier League at the deep end as he joins Bournemouth in the midst of a relegation battle.

It’s unclear why Spurs haven’t made their move for the youngster, but it’s clear that Tottenham will have to look elsewhere for a left-footed centre-back.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, will be thrilled to have landed such a talented young player.

Zabarnyi is a player who has the potential to be a star in the future, and his arrival will certainly add some quality to the Bournemouth defence.

With the Cherries currently struggling in the Premier League, they will be hoping that Zabarnyi can help turn their fortunes around and help them secure their top-flight status.

It remains to be seen how much of an impact Zabarnyi will have at Bournemouth, but it’s clear that he’s a player with a lot of potential, and who knows? Maybe if the Cherries are relegated, Zabarnyi will head to a club like Spurs.
