According to TMW, Arsenal are leading the race for Real Betis attacking midfielder Fekir.
It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Liverpool are also interested in the former Lyon star, but it is their Premier League rivals Arsenal who are in pole position for the 27-year-old.
Estadio Deportivo had earlier reported interest in the France international from Arsenal and Barcelona, as covered by HITC Sport.
According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old has scored three goals and provided five assists in 25 La Liga games for Manuel Pellegrini’s side so far this campaign.
Fekir is a very good and experienced attacking midfielder, and his arrival at the Emirates Stadium would mean that Martin Odegaard would not be at the club next season.
The 22-year-old Norway international attacking midfielder joined the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer until the end of the season.
Emile Smith Rowe is an Arsenal academy graduate and a key figure in manager Mikel Arteta’s team, and there is simply no chance that the Gunners will offload him at the end of the season.
Fekir is very likely a potential replacement for Madrid-owned Odegaard, and the Gunners reportedly leading the race for him is quite a major update.
