Allan Saint-Maximin has told Newcastle United fans on Instagram Live that he is ‘here forever’, amid rumours the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are chasing his signature.

The Newcastle winger, who has been out with a hamstring injury for most parts of the currently-halted Premier League season, told the Toon Army faithful ‘I love you guys’.

The popular 25-year-old was seemingly sitting at home, talking to fans and answering their questions on Wednesday evening, via the power of social media.

Saint-Maximin moved to St James’ Park from French side Nice in 2019 for £17 million (Sky Sports), and since that day, his all-action, lively and energetic style has warmed the heart of supporters.

With the Magpies at the start of the road in their new project under Eddie Howe and their Saudi-led ownership, Saint-Maximin made it clear ‘I will never forget Newcastle’.

“I love you as well guys,” said Saint-Maximin. “I will never forget Newcastle.

Saint-Maximin then starts slapping his chest: “Here forever.”

TOTTENHAM AND CHELSEA LINKS

As things stand, Newcastle are sitting in the Champions League places and they have outperformed the likes of Spurs and Chelsea this season.

The hope, not during this campaign, although they are challenging, is to play with Europe’s elite, but it seems those already comfy in those seats – Tottenham and Chelsea – are big fans of Saint-Maximin.

Over a year ago, this would have been a possibility because someone like Mike Ashley would have opened the door for the Frenchman, but with the power at the top of the club now, it’s probably unlikely such a move will take place.
