Aston Villa may be about to miss out on Thierry Henry.

Aston Villa’s search for a new manager goes on, but it doesn’t look like Thierry Henry will be the man to replace Steve Bruce in the Villa Park hot seat.
Villa sacked Bruce last week after a run of just one win in nine games, and the 3-3 home draw with Preston North End proved to be his final game in charge.
New owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens are now looking to make their first big appointment at Villa Park, but their first choice appears to be heading elsewhere.
Thierry Henry was wanted for the job despite a lack of managerial experience, and reports over the weekend suggested that he was closing in on a move to Villa Park.
However, the Belgium national team assistant coach could perform a shock U-turn, as ESPN report that he is set to snub Villa and become Monaco manager instead.
That would be a huge blow for Villa having seemingly made Henry their preferred candidate, and as Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim awaits the sack, Henry looks set for a return to his former club.

Villa fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the latest rumour, with some disappointed but looking to see either John Terry, Dean Smith or Brendan Rodgers take the reins at Villa Park.
Others aren’t impressed, suggesting it says a lot about Henry’s ambition as Ligue 1 isn’t a challenge, with others feeling that he didn’t have Villa at heart when they approached him about the job, whilst some suggested that picking a move to Monaco over Birmingham is a very easy decision.
