The midfielder has been in fine form recently in a further forward position.

Nottingham Forest’s policy of outscoring their opponents and seemingly neglecting their defensive duties paid off on Friday night – as they defeated Barnsley 5-2 at Oakwell

It was a good performance from Forest but one again the display of their midfield maestro Henri Lansbury beggared belief.

The midfielder has been pushed further forward since Forest started playing with a 5-3-2 formation – given permission to join up with the strikers for the Championship side.

He has since put in some of his best performances.

Against Barnsley the Forest talisman was in sensational form. He scored a hat-trick and his all-round display was sensational.

His passing, movement, leadership and, clearly, his finishing were all on point in a tremendous individual display.

Nottingham Forest must continue to play Lansbury in this more advanced position.

The midfield dynamo is wasted in the deeper role and when further forward he adds a completely different dimension to the club’s attacking play.

With Lansbury playing up the pitch Forest will surely not have to worry about relegation battles for much longer.

As he continues his good form, Forest fans will like to see him sign a new deal at the City Ground very soon.
