The Forest captain is close friends with his former team-mate.
Nottingham Forest are fighting hard to keep hold of their midfield talent Henri Lansbury this month – but it appears a former club employee is aiding him in his attempts to join Aston Villa.
It is being reported by The Times that the Forest captain has appointed former City Ground striker Dexter Blackstock as his agent.
The report claims that he developed a strong bond with the Antiguan – who spent seven years at Forest and scored 45 goals in 187 appearances.

Blackstock himself is still playing at Rotherham United, but is seemingly starting the next step of his career now as he approaches retirement age.
Forest fans will however not be pleased that a former player is pulling some of the strings behind their star man’s seemingly impending exit.
Lansbury is wanted by both Watford and Derby County but at present it seems that a move to Villa is most likely.

The 26-year-old midfielder is out of contract at Forest in the summer and it was reported by the Mirror this morning that Lansbury was all set to join Villa in a deal worth around £3.5 million.
Forest remain hopeful of keeping the player but he did not feature against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup this afternoon – as Villa appear to be closing on a deal.
