Jordan McEneff has wished Arsenal ‘all the best for the future’, after he confirmed his departure from the club on his Instagram.

Football can seem all rosy from the outside, especially if you represent a team in the Premier League and a club the size of Arsenal.

But, one thing that is very difficult to take is being released or let go, which many youngsters up and down the land are facing right now.

The transfer window, especially with all its power and money, does take the headlines, but there is also that dark side to players facing the excruciating call of no longer being wanted.

McEneff is one of those players, with the 21-year-old leaving Arsenal after over six years at the club.

The Derry-born player sent the following message to the club and its fans, after his exit and thanked them for sticking by him and ‘helping me develop so much’.

MCENEFF’S NEXT STOP?

During the recently-concluded campaign, McEneff was out on-loan at Irish Premier Division side, Shelbourne.

Perhaps returning to those colours could be an option for the midfielder, as he looks to write a new chapter in his early career.

McEneff didn’t represent Arsenal’s first team during his time in north London, but he did play 25 games for the U23s, as well as a handful of matches for the under-18s.

But now is the time for the midfielder to showcase his worth and work his way up the football pyramid.
