Tony Cascarino has claimed that Sadio Mane is the ‘most unpredictable’ out of Liverpool’s original front three, as he told talkSPORT (17/10/21 at 7:15 am).
The former Republic of Ireland striker claimed that Mane can have ‘stinkers’ at times for Liverpool, but then he can be ‘fantastic’.
Well, over the weekend, he was at his best because Mane opened the scoring as the Reds put five past sorry Watford at Vicarage Road.
The usual trio all got on the scoresheet, connected with one another like they were rolling back the years, as Roberto Firmino netted a hat-trick and Mo Salah danced past a few more players.
Cascarino was asked whether someone like Mane is being overshadowed by Salah, as he shared why he is different to his teammate
“I mean, yes,” said Cascarino. “We have looked at the numbers and it has been well-documented that he doesn’t take penalties, so his goal record is equally as good.
“He is the most unpredictable of the three. I think they all compliment each other. Salah is direct, always gets chances, always wants to run behind, cause havoc and incredible work ethic.
“Mane does that, but he does it in a more unpredictable way, where he literally has bad games. He will have stinkers sometimes. His finishing will be off the mark, then he will be fantastic.
“Then you have Firmino, who sets up the play up all the time, so they all compliment each other. Mane has been sensational for Liverpool. This time last season, he entered a poor period – he has started this season like he has a point to prove.”

Never write off or downplay a proven team because Liverpool are proving just that this season.
A club legend may not have returned to Anfield this summer or they didn’t put £100 million on the table for a playmaker.
But that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be spoken about in the high regard that the likes of both Manchester clubs and Chelsea were at the start of the season.
Nevermind just in the Premier League, it could be argued that Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking the best in Europe, at the moment and a team that is producing the performances they showcased back when they won the Champions League and the Premier League title.
