Some Rangers fans on Twitter aren’t convinced by their sale of George Edmundson.

It was announced on Tuesday that the Gers had sold the 23-year-old defender to Ipswich Town.

According to The Daily Record, Rangers have pocketed a cool £1 million from the sale – and even more if he helps the English club to promotion next season.

The Ibrox side have still made a profit on the big centre-back but here’s how some fans of the Scottish Premiership champions reacted on Twitter:

Good business

HITC Sport wrote earlier this morning that this is a good deal for Rangers – and it is.

Yes the player has a lot of talent, but he is 23 and only had four Premiership starts for Steven Gerrard under his belt since joining in the summer of 2019.

It’s been clear for some time that Gerrard had no plans for Edmundson in the long term and to make £1 million off a player who the boss and Ross Wilson loaned out last season can’t possibly be considered poor business.

The player might have made his bed after the coronavirus controversy last year involving Jordan Jones.

A disciplinarian like Gerrard was never going to keep him around after that, but the fact that the club still turned a profit has to be noted
