Jamie O’Hara has claimed that Hugo Lloris hasn’t changed by taking his ‘foot off the gas’ since signing a new deal for Tottenham, as he told Stadium Astro.

Over the weekend, Tottenham’s captain made two costly mistakes during their defeat against Wolves and O’Hara thinks he will be ‘annoyed’ by his actions.

From failing to grasp the ball, before Raul Jimenez could beautifully chest down and volley home to his wayward passing from the back led to Wolves’ second inside 20 minutes.

It was another afternoon to forget for Spurs and their £12 million keeper (BBC Sport), as Antonio Conte’s side have now lost three Premier League games on the bounce.

Even though Lloris had a bad day in the office, O’Hara defend the player’s actions.

“I don’t think that’s the case with Lloris (foot off the gas after signing a new deal),” said O’Hara. “I think he just had a bad day.

“He made a couple of mistakes. He will be kicking himself. You don’t win the World Cup and be the type of player that when you sign a new deal, you take your foot off the gas. That’s not in Lloris’ mind, at all.

“He will be annoyed with what he has done. I just think there is no confidence in the side defensively.”

Lloris recently signed a new deal for Tottenham, and despite recently turning 35, it was much-deserved for the World Cup winner.

Throughout this indifferent campaign for those in north London, he has been one of the club’s better players.

But that’s saying something when Spurs are supposed to have a team full of packed stars and top talents.

It just signifies the task Conte has on hand and how the amount of work on the training ground might not be enough to turn the club’s ship around.
