Leeds United clearly missed out on a player in Conor Gallagher.
Crystal Palace signed the 21-year-old on loan from Chelsea in August but it was reported at the time that the player himself snubbed a move to Elland Road in favour of the Eagles.
He has started and finished four Premier League games for Palace, scoring two goals already.
Leeds could’ve done with a player of his craft and industry.
And his teammate, Wilfried Zaha, has tipped him to become a ‘top player’ in the years to come.
He told talkSPORT: “He’s a very good player to be honest. He brings that energy that we need. It’s been a couple of games and everyone can see Conor’s potential. He’s young so he’s only going to get better. He will be a top player. It’s not every players who can go from box to box the whole game.”
Dream partnership
Seeing him so far, he would’ve been a dream player to have alongside Kalvin Phillips in Marcelo Bielsa’s midfield and you can easily see why the West Yorkshire club wanted to get him.
It’s been a difficult second season for Leeds in the Premier League and perhaps a player of Gallagher’s quality could’ve made a difference.
Bielsa’s side have failed to win any of their first five top-flight outings, after finishing ninth in the Premier League last term.
The Whites, who are home to West Ham on Saturday afternoon, are 17th in the table this time around and the legendary coach clearly needs to get a better response from his troops.
