Tottenham Hotspur were absolutely blown away on Sunday afternoon, losing 3-1 to Arsenal – though Bryan Gil did offer some hope.

Tottenham were absolutely horrific in the first half, falling to a 3-0 deficit inside the first half.

Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka all found the net for Arsenal before the break.

Son Heung-min did give Tottenham a goal back late on, but it ultimately didn’t matter as Nuno Espirito Santo suffered another major defeat.

Gil shows some promise

Few Tottenham players came out of today’s game with much praise, though substitute Bryan Gil did show some promise.

The Spanish winger came on with just 20 minutes to play, replacing Tanguy Ndombele.

Gil was bright and brought real energy, whilst his sliding tackle ultimately set up Son’s goal.

Gil continues to show real potential for Tottenham in limited minutes – and this may be the springboard for more playing time.

Tottenham fans praise Gil

Tottenham fans hailed the winger on Twitter, stating that he was ‘unreal’ and the best players on the pitch.

Others feel that Gil looked more likely than Dele Alli has all season, and other players should take notes on his desire.

There is a real feeling that Gil will be a ‘superstar’ moving forward having at least shown some passion today.
