Leeds United loanee is capable of a lot more.
Helder Costa showed a few neat touches in Leeds United’s win over Blackburn, but fans want to see more than just a moderate improvement.
Costa was Leeds’ marquee summer signing, joining on loan from Wolves.
The Portugal international helped Wolves win promotion in 2017/18 but is yet to show the same type of sparkling form which saw him net 15 goals and provide 14 assists in two seasons in the Championship at Molineux.
So far for Leeds Costa is yet to have a real impact. He is yet to score, and has only one assist.
At the weekend he managed only 38 touches in 80 minutes before being taken off in the 2-1 win over Blackburn.

What makes Costa’s form easier to swallow is Leeds’ high league position.
The Whites are in third place, just two points off first.
Instead of being worried and concerned by Costa’s lack of impact this season, Leeds should be encouraged by the overall picture.
Leeds are in third despite Costa not hitting form, and not because of him.
And that offers some encouragement about what might be possible for Leeds if Costa starts firing on all cylinders.
Leeds are just 16 games into a 46 game Championship season and there is plenty of time for Costa to get right.
If Marcelo Bielsa can coax the best out of Costa, then Leeds could be unplayable, and pose an even bigger threat for opposing defences.
At this point, there’s no need for Leeds to panic.
