Leeds United had a difficult time breaking down Birmingham City at the weekend, edging a 1-0 win.
The Whites have regularly made hard work of opponents despite dominating games, with matches decided by a single goal.
One of the biggest disappointments this season, and on Saturday, was the performance of Helder Costa.
Costa was substituted after 83 minutes after failing to make an impact.
He did not manage to create a single chance, and his only effort on goal was placed off target.
Costa touched the ball just 32 times, fewer than any player to feature for 80 minutes or more, including goalkeeper Kiko Casilla (45).
Costa is on loan from Wolves, and Leeds have a commitment to buy him at the end of the season.
During his last stint in the Championship with Wolves, Costa was absolutely outstanding and played a key role in them winning automatic promotion.
So far it is yet to click for him, and that is a big problem for manager Marcelo Bielsa to have to solve.
Bielsa was slow to phase Costa into the side, but he is yet to prove to be worth the wait.
It will be interesting to see whether he keeps his place for Leeds’ trip to Preston on Tuesday night. A fresh approach might be best for the Whites.
