Helder Costa has reacted on Twitter to Leeds United’s win on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side cruised to a 3-1 victory at Bristol City to enjoy a winning start to the new Championship campaign.

The Portuguese winger is probably the most exciting signing that Leeds have made this summer after bringing him in on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

But Bielsa started him on the bench and only gave him a 15-minute cameo in the final quarter.

Nevertheless, it was a promising debut from Costa and he said on social media that he was ‘very happy’ to have made it.

It really is quite exciting that Leeds can bench a player of Costa’s quality and still ease to a simple win without him, especially at a ground like Ashton Gate.

Lee Johnson’s side will take a lot of points off a lot of big Championship teams this season, and the fact that it was a stroll in the park for a United side without their flagship signing bodes very, very well.

Leeds United's Helder Costa arrives at Ashton gate during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on August 4, 2019 in Bristol, England.
