Leeds United haven’t won promotion to the Premier League yet, but they’ve already made their first permanent signing ahead of next season.
The Whites can move another step closer to their long-awaited return to the top flight with a win over Stoke City on Thursday, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side almost there.
Leeds sit top of the table, and with games running out, it would take a stunning collapse for them to miss out on a place in the Premier League.
Fans may already be thinking of potential signings for the top flight, but Leeds already had one deal to rubber stamp – the permanent deal for Helder Costa.
Leeds took Costa on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer, and that deal included an obligation to sign the wide man for £16million.
Costa has now signed a four-year deal at Elland Road, and will be hoping to find some consistency having blown hot and cold this season.
The 26-year-old has bagged four goals and six assists this season, and may now have the chance to shine in the Premier League having previously struggled there with Wolves.
Costa took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to celebrate his deal, and he received messages from all over the world as he posed with the Leeds shirt.

Leeds teammates Kalvin Phillips, Ezgjan Alioski, Pablo Hernandez, Illan Meslier, Barry Douglas, Ian Carlo Poveda, Stuart Dallas, Jamie Shackleton and Robbie Gotts all sent their well-wishes to the winger.
Costa also received messages from players he worked with at Wolves; Will Norris, Sylvain Deslandes, Dave Edwards, Nouha Dicko, Rafa Mir and Leo Bonatini all celebrated the move.
Premier League duo of Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo and West Ham United attacker Xande Silva as well as Ajax goalkeeper Bruno Varela, Sevilla winger Rony Lopes, Nottingham Forest playmaker Tiago Silva, Monaco midfielder Pele, Olympiacos midfielder Cafu and PSV Eindhoven winger Bruma also passed on their messages to Costa, with worldwide reaction to his move.
