Leeds fell to a valiant home defeat in the Carabao Cup.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa during the Carabao Cup Second Round match between Leeds United and Stoke City at Elland Road on August 27, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Leeds United fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Stoke City, only to lose on penalties.

Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa had named a much changed team for the Carabao Cup fixture.

Leif Davis was one of the players to come in, and he marked his performance with an assist for Helder Costa’s equalising goal.

Davis, 19, signed for Leeds from Morecambe a year ago and is making steady in-roads towards Leeds’ first team.

Goalscorer Helder Costa also sent a message to supporters after the shootout loss.

Eddie Nketiah had scored Leeds’ first goal of the game, after the Whites had gone in 2-0 down at half-time.

Leeds lost 5-4 on penalties with Jack Harrison the unfortunate player to miss his spot kick.
