Boyd featured for Championship club Wednesday in the pre-season friendly match against League Two outfit Mansfield away from home at the One Call Stadium.
The 31-year-old winger started the game and played for the first 45 minutes, as the Owls won 3-2.
Jordan Rhodes, Tom Lees and Lucas Joao were the goalscorers for Wednesday, who will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship next season.
Boyd joined the Owls in the summer transfer window as a free agent following his departure from Premier League club Burnley at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
