Some Tottenham fans on social media have been expressing their concerns after reports emerged linking them with a move for Antonio Conte.
The Italian is undoubtedly one of the most tactically astute coaches in the world, but Tottenham fans don’t think he’s the man for them.
Indeed, despite the fact he was labelled as world-class by one fan, Spurs supporters believe that Conte would clash with Daniel Levy.
To be fair, we can understand why. Conte had high-profile issues with the higher-ups at Chelsea and his lack of backing, and it’s fair to say that Levy is frustrating when it comes to funding transfers.
The report states that Conte may be thinking about leaving Inter due to a lack of signings, and that has understandably set alarm bells ringing in Spurs fans’ heads.
Levy famously doesn’t like reaching into his pockets at Tottenham, and in a post-pandemic market, we can only imagine it would be even harder to convince him to spend big, and with Conte keen to make signings at whichever club he’s at, we can’t help but agree that this could be an issue.
