Jamie Carragher has called on former club Liverpool to make a bank-breaking move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland this summer.
Haaland has been tentatively linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months.
Sky Sports reported in March that the 20-year-old sensation would actually be in favour of a move to Anfield to work under Jurgen Klopp.
Carragher said on CBS Sport earlier in the week that he’d love to see the towering Norway marksman on Merseyside.
But here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to Carragher’s transfer shout on Twitter:
Is it going to happen? In a word, no.
Liverpool aren’t exactly in the poor house as far as finances go, but the numbers touted to sign the former Salzburg striker are just ridiculous.
According to The Mirror, Mino Raiola, his agent, thinks Haaland could be the game’s first £1 million-a-week footballer – and that’s without even talking about his £154 million valuation.
Lord knows that Klopp needs a new number nine to freshen up his stale forward line at Anfield.
But there’s no chance of the German being given Haaland as part of his new-look attack this summer.
