Charlie Austin told talkSPORT that reported Tottenham target Danny Ings is ‘better than’ Chelsea hitman Tammy Abraham.
The QPR player believes Ings would be able to fit in at Tottenham and he would also ‘play for Chelsea’ if given the chance.
There has been a lot of talk about Ings’ future of late, with the likes of Manchester City and Spurs lurking around the corner for his signature, according to Eurosport and the Athletic.
Austin played alongside Ings during his days at Southampton and he was full of praise for his ex-teammate.
“He would play for Chelsea,” said Austin. “He’s better than Tammy Abraham. Take the Chelsea glasses off, mate, he’s better than Abraham.
“22 Premier League goals last season. For me, if Kane drops in, he can go in the number nine. If Danny drops in then Kane stays there.
On whether he would be first-choice at Spurs: “Well, would he get that at Man City just because Sergio Aguero is going. You are talking about changes and rotation to the team. Is he guaranteed to be number one?
On whether Austin himself would be second fiddle at Man City or first choice at Spurs if Kane leaves: “Man City because they play so many games. They are in every competition.”

There’s no doubt that Ings deserve a shot at a team in Europe again after his injury-plagued Liverpool days.
The 28-year-old has experience on his side and if he can stay out of the treatment room then he’s guaranteeing you goals.
After hit 22 last season, only eight have come during this campaign for the £20 million (BBC Sport) hitman but he has only played 22 games.
