Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to Nuno Espirito Santo seemingly closing in on the Crystal Palace job.
Everton and Palace, amongst a number of other Premier League clubs, have been searching for a new manager before the madness and potential distraction of Euro 2020 kicks off.
Ideally, a new face for those clubs would arrive before the major tournament starts on Friday, with Nuno’s name previously linked with the Everton job.
But it seems the former goalkeeper, who left Wolves at the end of the season, is going to end up at Palace, as reported by the Telegraph.
Everton fans have provided a mixed reaction to this rumour, as numerous names continue to be linked with their vacant post after Carlo Ancelotti’s surprise departure.
From Palace’s perspective, at least there were suggestions that Roy Hodgson was going to leave, so they could plan for it.
The same could be said for Wolves in regards to Nuno, whilst it has been over 50 days since Jose Mourinho left Tottenham.
But Everton were planning life with Ancelotti this summer, only to be hit with the shock of Real Madrid knocking on their door and the Italian then returning to the La Liga giants.
So, it will be interesting to see who those in the Goodison Park boardroom eventually push for because not many will be able to replace the big-name they have just lost in the dugout.
