Jack Grealish absolutely ran the show for Aston Villa against Arsenal seven days ago.
Dean Smith’s side left the Emirates Stadium with a 3-0 win that was made possible because of the brilliance of Grealish.
The 25-year-old was brilliant throughout, toying with Arsenal and exploiting them at every opportunity.
And now a Gunners legend in the form of Gilberto Silva would like to see his former team-mate Edu bring him to North London.
Gilberto, a Premier League winner during The Invincibles’ year, said to The Invisible Wall podcast: “Grealish is amazing. With his ability, in the middle, he plays beautiful football. He controls the ball, assists and can score goals. He is slightly different from Dennis Bergkamp, but he could be somebody for the future at Arsenal.”
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to Gilberto’s suggestion on Twitter:
A lot of supporters have questioned how they would finance the deal and they’re absolutely right.
It’s entirely possible that the England international – who signed a five-year extension with Villa in September – is more valuable than Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, who Mikel Arteta and Edu couldn’t afford during the summer.
Grealish’s profile isn’t as big yet, but he’s one of the Premier League’s finest players in his position and with some dazzling displays at international level too, his stock is rapidly rising and there’s just no way he’s going to be within Arsenal’s budget anytime soon.
