There are very few figures around Leeds United that would be wanting to see the back of Chris Wood this summer. However, if you were to choose one, Marcus Antonsson would be top of the list.
The Swedish striker has had no chance of regular football since his arrival from Kalmar in the summer. With good reason, New Zealand international Chris Wood has scored 30 goals this season in 48 appearances for the club.
That form has seen the striker linked with a move to the Premier League, which might give Antonsson a chance of more regular football at Leeds.
But speaking to Fotboll Direkt this week, the Swedish striker made it clear he does not wish Wood away from Elland Road:

“No idea. It’s foolish to speculate on that, and that’s about what I do. I do not want it to be about that either, but I’ll take a seat regardless of whether he stays or not.
“I think there are opportunities for me whatever, I have qualities that fit here.”

Antonsson struggled for football during his debut season at the club and has not featured for Leeds since the FA Cup defeat against Sutton United in late January.
He scored just three goals for Leeds this campaign and will be hoping to get a chance to have a bigger impact at Elland Road next season, with or without Wood’s presence.
