Tottenham and Liverpool fans praised Marcel Sabitzer’s performance on Wednesday night despite his Austria side falling to a 1-0 defeat against England.

The attack-minded midfielder has some admirers in the Premier League – mainly in the shape of Spurs and Liverpool – and he didn’t disappoint them with his performance last night.

The RB Leipzig star looked lively in an advanced role and was one of the main threats for his country on the night, including forcing Jordan Pickford to pull off a fingertip save which ended up hitting the crossbar.

German outfit Bild have previously claimed that Spurs have initiated contact to try and sign the technically-gifted midfielder in the summer.

Liverpool are noted as other suitors for the £36 million-rated player, who seemingly doesn’t want to pen down a new deal with the big-money Bundesliga club.

More so for Spurs, because they ended the campaign in seventh, but Sabitzer is the type of player they should be looking to add to their ranks this summer.

Given that Dele Alli’s form has fallen off a cliff in recent years and Spurs no longer have that spark from Christian Eriksen, a more attacking mind is needed in midfield to complement the aggressive-natured and defensively sound, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Equally, Liverpool, who are set to part ways with Gini Wijnaldum this month when his contract expires, need a replacement for the quick-thinking Dutchman.

And judging by Sabitzer’s performance last night, he has the off-ball discipline and aggression for that to work at Anfield.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs and Liverpool fans reacting to Sabitzer’s performance against England last night:
