Liverpool fans have stated on Twitter that they would have Conor Coady back at the club after the Wolves man impressed on his international debut.

England recorded a goalless draw away at Denmark in the UEFA Nations League, with Coady starting in a back three consisting of Joe Gomez, himself and Eric Dier.

Coady played in the middle of the three and was composed when dealing with danger, but showcased his ability to produce long and accurate passes to the fullbacks – mainly to a certain Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool faithful made it clear on Twitter that they wouldn’t mind seeing some of that action at Anfield, as they lauded Coady’s display on the night.

It has to be questioned why it has taken Gareth Southgate this long to hand the Wolves captain his first England cap because he has been a top-quality performer in the Premier League for two seasons now.

He guided Wolves to Europe last term, and a recent top-half finish, and many will be backing them to get into Europe again ahead of the new season.

Jurgen Klopp could do with another centre-back because they are yet to replace their back-up option Dejan Lovren, who left Anfield this summer.

Given that Coady is a boyhood Reds fan, in the best form of his life, and now an England international, it wouldn’t be a bad shout from those on Merseyside to snap him up.

Here is a selection of Liverpool fans reacting to Coady’s performance yesterday:
