Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin made an emotinal return to the international fold on Wednesday night.
The Gunners right-back clocked 90 minutes for Spain in their 1-1 draw with the Netherlands last night.
In doing so, the Arsenal defender made his first appearance for his country since 2016.
And here’s how the former Barcelona product reacted to the return on Twitter:
The 25-year-old has been a senior member of Arsenal’s squad since 2014.
He is a popular player among fans of the North London club – and here’s how some of them responded to the star on Twitter after his post-match tweet.
He posted the same message on Instagram and former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry – a Champions League winner with Bayern Munich last season – was among the people who responded, writing ‘Super 22‘ in reference to his ex-teammate’s squad number with La Roja.
Despite Arsenal’s form being up and down in recent months, Bellerin has been pretty consistent under Mikel Arteta and he more than deserved his call-up by Luis Enrique.
He has struggled with injury at times during his stint at the Emirates Stadium, but Bellerin has managed to play every minute of his side’s eight Premier League games this season – and long may it last.
