Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin has been linked with Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has said that he is well aware that Barcelona will need a replacement if Dani Alves joins Juventus this summer, but he has reiterated that he is content in North London, AS reports.
The Spanish publication AS posed the question to the right-back following speculation that Barcelona right-back Alves could make the switch to Juventus in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian has been Barca’s number one right-back for a number of years, but his age and declining influence may prompt the club to finally look at buying a younger replacement.
Bellerin, a former Barcelona academy graduate, ticks all the boxes and is the outstanding candidate.
However, when responding to questions of his future and a possible switch to the Nou Camp, Bellerin admitted that interest is flattering, but he made it clear that he is happy with the Gunners and hinted that a move isn’t on his mind.
“I’m very happy to receive interest from such big clubs. As a footballer, it’s always nice,” Bellerin told AS.
“But I have already said that I’m very content with where I am and right now I’m not thinking in anything else other than the Spanish national team and giving my all.
“If Dani Alves goes, its true that they will need a right-back replacement, but there are many in Europe.”
Bellerin joined Arsenal from Barcelona as a youngster, following in the footsteps of Cesc Fabregas.
The 21-year-old has gone on to make 56 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s men since making his debut in the 2014/15 season, improving at an impressive rate.
He would be the obvious candidate to replace Alves at Barcelona, although Arsenal certainly wouldn’t let him go for cheap and not without a suitable replacement lined up for themselves.
