Leeds United should be in the market for a new striker this summer.

With a play-off place seemingly out of reach this season, Leeds United need reinforcements this summer in an attempt to push for the top six under new boss Paul Heckingbottom next term.
Heckingbottom has had some time to analyse his squad and figure out what he needs this summer, with The Sun (18/3, p60) claiming that he wants three players he signed for Barnsley; Andy Yiadom, Joe Williams and Oliver McBurnie.
Other players he worked with at Oakwell should be on his radar, and with a new striker absolutely imperative, ex-Barnsley hitman Sam Winnall should be a target for Leeds.

The Whites are set to lose Pierre-Michel Lasogga at the end of his loan move from Hamburg this summer, whilst the likes of Jay-Roy Grot, Pawel Cibicki and Caleb Ekuban haven’t been goalscorers this season.
Heckingbottom may want at least one forward with Championship experience, and reuniting with Winnall – currently on loan at Derby County having been a misfit at Sheffield Wednesday – makes sense.
Winnall, 27, hit 48 goals in 115 games for Barnsley before heading to Wednesday in January 2017, where he scored just four goals in 18 games before being sent out on loan to Derby.

Since heading there, Winnall has scored six times in 18 games, but with just seven starts, he seems unlikely to land a permanent move, and may be looking for a new club again this summer.
A key part of Heckingbottom’s Barnsley side, Winnall is a hard-working forward with experience in the Championship, and if they can prise him away from Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds would be smart to move for the striker and reunite him with his former manager.
