Bailey Peacock-Farrell is playing well for Leeds United at the moment.
Heckingbottom was appointed the Leeds head coach in February 2018 following the departure of Thomas Christiansen.
Peacock-Farrell has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Elland Road and is playing well for the West Yorkshire outfit at the moment.
The former Barnsley boss has revealed the chat he had with the 21-year-old Northern Ireland Under-21 international goalkeeper.
Heckingbottom told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “I had a chat with Bailey about pushing on and wanting to improve.
“I felt, and he agreed, that he’d become a bit static. I told him it’s down to him. If he wants to push forward then it’s up to him where his career takes him.
“You can’t just come into training every day, train and go home. You come in for a reason and a purpose.”

Heckingbottom seems to be taking credit for Peacock-Farrell’s current form, and perhaps he should.
After all, it is under the former Barnsley manager that the 21-year-old is getting regular chances for the first team and is playing well.
While results and overall performances of Leeds under Heckingbottom have been disappointing, one of the positives is the rise to stardom of Peacock-Farrell.
It will be interesting to see if the Northern Ireland Under-21 international goalkeeper retains his place in the Leeds starting lineup next season.
