Andy King would not be surprised if Leicester City renewed their interest in Celtic talisman Odsonne Edouard at some point in 2021, as he told Stadium Astro.
With Kelechi Iheanacho and Ayoze Perez as inconsistent as ever, the Foxes remain reliant on a 33-year-old forward who, last season, became the oldest Golden Boot winner in Premier League history.
Jamie Vardy certainly isn’t slowing down just yet – literally or metaphorically.
But if Leicester are serious about balancing Premier League and European football over the next few years, they may need to ease the burden on a man who will have 34 candles on his birthday cake in January.
According to the Mail, Brendan Rodgers would love to work with his former Celtic star Edouard again at the King Power.
But would the £35 million-rated Frenchman really join a club where he would not be the guaranteed number one striker?

“(Leicester) been heavily linked with Edouard from Celtic, obviously a player who Brendan knows,” said Foxes legend King, a midfielder who recently had a loan spell at Rangers.
“That’s one they might look to do. The issue they’re going to have is if Jamie Vardy is fit, he plays. It is similar with Tottenham and Harry Kane.”
Spurs fans will not need reminding of the difficulties they had in finding a striker willing to play second fiddle to England’s number nine, until Carlos Vinicius arrived on loan from Benfica of course.
Edouard is expected to leave Celtic sooner rather than later and, speaking to Telefoot this week, last season’s 27-goal top scorer admitted that he is keen to try his hand in a ‘higher league’.
