The 31-year-old has reunited with Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, whom he assisted at Rio Ave and Valencia.
Joining Wanderers represents Cathro’s first job since being sacked as Hearts manager last August, after only seven months in charge.

The former Newcastle United coach met Wolves boss Nuno on a SFA coaching course in 2009.
