Conor Shaughnessy joined Heart of Midlothian on loan from Leeds United in the January transfer window.

Shaughnessy, who can operate as a central defender or as a central midfielder, joined Hearts on loan from Leeds in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old made his competitive debut for Hearts at the weekend, as the youngster featured in the Scottish Cup fourth-round tie against Livingston at Tynecastle Park.
Hearts first-team coach Daly was impressed with the performance of the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international and has spoken highly of Shaughnessy.
Daly told The Edinburgh Evening News about Shaughnessy: “I thought it was a fantastic debut for a centre-back. Conor was aggressive, he won his headers and tackles, he was composed and picked passes through the lines, fed balls into the striker. Overall, as debuts go, I don’t think it could have gone much better for him.”
“Sunday was a cup game, Livingston were throwing balls forward and making him compete,” added Daly. “I thought he dealt with that really well.
“He just took it in his stride. Games are coming thick and fast for him now and he needs to just maintain the level he set against Livingston.”

Encouraging for Leeds United
Shaughnessy has made only a handful of appearances for the Leeds first team so far in his career, and the youngster has yet to established himself in the senior side.
Given the way the youngster performed on his competitive debut for Hearts, Leeds should be confident about the progress the youngster will make in the Scottish Premiership in the next few months.
